Ahad Syed

Ahad Syed is an associate at Sellar Hazard & Lucia’s Los Angeles, California office. His practice focuses on civil litigation, general liability, insurance defense, and construction defect defense. Prior to joining the
firm, Ahad managed a transactional intellectual property (IP) practice focused on trademark law. In that
capacity, Ahad successfully filed several hundred trademark applications at the United States Patent and
Trademark Office (USPTO) and prosecuted them to registration for his clients. In addition, Ahad
routinely responded to USPTO Office Actions as well as enforced and defended trademark rights. Prior
to managing a practice, Ahad worked as an attorney in Chicago, Illinois on business torts, IP law,
defamation, privacy law, and commercial litigation. Ahad is a 2016 graduate of the University of Illinois
College of Law where he served as articles editor of the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology
& Policy and earned the highest grade in two courses.
