James G. Gilyard is a United States Marine Corps Veteran who earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. In addition to serving as an Academic Support Program tutor in the subjects of contracts, torts, and constitutional law, he also served as an extern for the San Francisco Human Rights Commission. Following law school, Mr. Gilyard served as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Martin J. Jenkins in the District Court for the Northern District of California. Before joining Sellar Hazard & Lucia, Mr. Gilyard practiced in several areas of law including: Securities and Consumer Protection Class Actions, Antitrust, Products Liability, and Disability Rights. Mr. Gilyard grew up in San Francisco where he lettered in three sports (football, track, and wrestling) in high school and went on to play football at San Francisco State University. He continues to spend much of his spare time training.
